Safety at school and online

In order to ensure the safety of the children at school we follow our own Child Protection Policy which is consistent with the policies and protocols of the West Sussex Safeguarding Children's Board. By regularly monitoring and reviewing our activities insofar as they relate to this area, we are able to ensure we're doing our very best to safeguard children at school. If any parents do have any concerns about safegurading children - or child protection matters at the school, then they should raise them directly with the Headteacher Susan O'Boyle who will always take seriously any such concerns.

Many parents find that it a challenge to ensure that their children are keeping themselves safe whilst they are online. CBBC has some excellent resources on their Stay Safe page that helps to sensitively communicate good and safe online practise to children - and indeed to adults for that matter. For parents specifically the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Agency (known by many as CEOP) has an excellent resource for parents called 'Think U Know' and the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) has some excellent advice and material to help parents improve their understanding of and management of how children share information online as part of their Share Aware campaign.
